How much do I have to spend in order for me to understand the lesson?

There was a charity drive at my workplace earlier this year and I donated 3 bags of new (very new) clothes. While I was going through my wardrobe, I came to realisation that I have spent alot buying clothes which I don't really wear.

Honestly, it's really a total waste of my hard earned money. I know no use crying over spilt milk. That kind of money saved if I hadn't been buying could pay for years of household expenses. I'm as guilty as charged or without even need to be charged.

These few months when i didn't get to go out at all..I discovered the beauty of 'staying home'. When the eyes don't see, the head and heart won't influence me to buy. Now, I'm leaning towards having fewer things and keeping those that matters and those that I will really use / wear. After all I only got 1 body that can wear a set of clothes at a time...so why need so many clothes? My old self wouldn't understand this but my new self is beginning to understand a little more each day.

kitchen say 'organise me'

Everyday when I step into my kitchen, I hear a nagging 'please organise me'. Actually I myself also have the same feeling and the same nagging inside my heart too. So beginning of the year, I looked online and ordered this trolley which cost me less than 40 bucks and start organising some of the items in my kitchen.
It is far from finish and after so many moons, it is still unfinished business...poor kitchen...
but at least 1 small portion of it got sorted ... small win

green green plants

Nothing beat green green plants as stress relief. It is relaxing to see plants growing and thriving each day. It is resilient and patience and stay rooted no matter what. Gardening and growing plants got to be one of the most fulfilling hobby for me. I've been wanting to cultivate the same in my children but they seem to be more interested in some other things though.
Nevertheless, I'm thankful dear still allow me to keep our garden at home. Upon my recovery, I'll be making effort to turn it into a wonderful garden haven. Wish me luck! eventhough I've been trying for long time but I will not give up. I'll try and try and try again.

KL Library ... the coolest place to be in town

Perpustakaan Kuala Lumpur @ KL Library is situated right next to Dataran Merdeka

This is the entrance. The library will be closed on Monday and public holidays.

The range of books are good. Managed to find some latest books in the market in the library collection.
This is one of my many favourite section. Kudos and a big thank you to DBKL for providing and maintaining such a superb library in town.

Let's revive the reading culture in our families, our younger generations, our communities...one visit at a time...one book at a time.

Useful mini oven

Got this precious useful oven around Chinese New Year (CNY 2025) for less than 100. It's a great great deal from Lotus.

We've got a smaller one before we upgraded to this, at least we can now make potato wedges in 2 batch, rather than 3-4 batch previously.

Prefer this conventional oven as compared to microwave oven...somehow it makes the food tastier .... haha I feel lah

Now that it is more than 6 months old...my vow is to use it to make more tasty stuff for family to at. Time to explore and try out new dishes

Red eggs for birthday

Red eggs symbolize birth and I always feel warmth when I see red eggs because it represent birthday. So when it comes to my children birthday, I will make red eggs to remind myself to be grateful having them in my life.

And this year, thanks to AI, it has taught me the way to use vinegar to let the red colour food dye stay on the egg shells. Previous year the red colour didn't stay well.

Hopefully next time, my children let this tradition continue and our hearts stay warm together.

加油 my little one.. You can do it

My little one is still like a small child.
She still like things that are meant for babies / toddlers.
Perhaps it's because she didn't get to enjoy them when she was small and there weren't so many varieties during then.
So mama told her that she will get as present when she complete 50 books.. 加油 my little one
You can do it

Amazing plant pillar

I just love this plant wall.
It is a brilliant idea to have this type of plant pillar in buildings.
And it's a good idea to have this plant wall at the elevated highway pillar.
Imagine the amount of carbon dioxide it can absorb and the amount of oxygen it can give.
Thanks to the team who came up with this sustainable and practical idea.
You can have different categories of plant for the plant pillars depending on local climate and suitability.
If I may put forward this idea to DBKL or the Majlis Perbandaran...we can always try with a few pillars / have a pilot project before going full fledged. It can serve as tourist attraction as well :)

Growing 'shu zai choi' aka pan mee vege

Got a whole bunch of shu zai choi from the aunty who sell pan mee at the pasar pagi (morning market). Thank you very much aunty

She was very happy when I told her I wanted to germinate & grow them. She say 'take take better than her throwing it away'

Took the whole pack (as tall as 2/3 of my height) home, de-leaves them remaining on the branches and put them in water to germinate

You can see they started sprouting and new shots coming out.

Just transferred them to the ground last weekend

The bigger plant was from previous batch (also from the pan mee aunty at the pasar pagi)

However, some little insects find it tasty and start attacking it...aduh..they get to taste it before us.

small blessings

Our family is into avocado lately and avocado family is growing. These cuties are sleep companions every night.

I have been trying to advocate savings to my youngest but she doesn't seem to be able to grasp the concept of delay gratification. So when she showed me this article which she cut out from the newspaper on saving money and start saving her pocket money...no words can clearly describe what I felt. I'm really really thankful. And I learnt that some things is really can't be rushed.

growing more succulent

Succulents are survivors. I adore them. Somehow they
  survive and multiply easily.
And they make me feel relaxed looking at them
especially those that shaped like lotus flower

and showed us how amazing nature is
My intention, grow and multiply them and give them to friends and family
Please grow well
and I'm grateful to you for bringing me joy and relaxation. Thank you
