GARDEN FOR RENT

I think we must have hung a 'GARDEN FOR RENT' at our garden.
I think dear wrote it in animal languages using ink that's invisible to human eyes (or my eyes at least) .

This is the second time our gardens have been occupied by mama kitty and litter of kittens ... 3 kittens.
And mind you, it wasn't even the same mama kitty (well, could be the same papa kitty though)

Oh...and they do really make themselves at home, pulling industrial foams to be their bed, playing with plants and butterflies in our garden, playing hide and seek with us.....

Once, the kittens even fall asleep at the car engine compartment and being ferry from one house to another house which is just a door away.

What happened was dear's father park his car at the house (where kittens stay) and open the car engine compartment for it to cool down.
I guess the kittens needed some warmth and they went into the engine compartment.
Dear's father later drove the car back to the other house (luckily just a door away), open the engine compartment to find 3 kittens in THERE.
I think he also had a shock.
Now I understand why they say kittens are playful.

Oh... about the RENT they pay
some natural ' fertilizer ' for the plants to grow
some spots (poos for us to step on) and the 'fragrance'
some happiness and fun (playing hide and seek)
some exercises (picking up whatever pots / stones tumbled by them)
some meowing music by the kittens
some laughters watching the kittens stand wobbly and catching butterflies...

BTW, i believe the 'GARDEN FOR RENT' sign is still there and ah dear has no intention of taking it down =p muahaha ....

hehe ... have fun spotting the kitties =D

shall we dance?

I've got myself into trouble (read : happiness) again !!!! weee .........
Signing myself up for line dancing was a natural thing to do ... like go wee wee ....

I think I wasn't thinking when I click that 'send' button on my email [ not without dragging my collegues along .. hehe ]

Also partly due to there are limited space of 25 only ...
and you just doesn't know how fast & furious my fellow collegues are.

Needless to say, the 25 places + 5 extra places were snapped up within 5 minutes.

The organiser even had to indicate the timestamp of time email registration received to reflect fairplay.

I now feel like a child again, excited to begin my ballet class [ the difference is my bones are harden =p ]

ps. and just in case you're wondering... nope, I'm not giving up my yoga classes. I'm enjoying every moment of it.

Well, before I learn to kick some ass, SHALL WE DANCE?

Adopt me please...

This is an email from a friend who adores doggies,

This is actually a puppy of a neighbour's female dog. The owner does not take care or properly feed the female dog, not to mention the puppy.

He was driving out yesterday and banged down the puppy, then just left it there injured and went off. We rescued the puppy and sent it to the vet, who said that she has a dislocated right leg. Her leg was plastered and we will send her for a check-up next week, and the plaster will be removed in 2 weeks' time. We also gave her de-worming pills.

She is now able to walk a little after receiving the treatment yesterday, and should be back in good health within 2 weeks.

We cannot keep it for long as my brother has asthma and we are urgently seeking a kind, loving owner to adopt her and give her a happy family.

Only owners that are genuinely interested in taking care of her should contact us. There will be a small adoption fee to cover treatment, vaccination, deworming, etc.
this lucky pup has since been adopted to a good home =)

Yam char yam dou Sg Lembing, kheng gai kheng dou Awana Kijal, sai lei mou??

It's almost like a ritual we perform every Friday night ... meeting up for yam cha.

You got to know what's yam cha if you're a Malaysia but for the benefit of non-Malaysia, yam char is referring to tea drinking session where people meet and chit chat.

However, we have decided to upgrade our yam cha session this friday from within 10km radius to more than 100km radius... crossing borders.
We are moving our yam cha session at regular BRJ / ABC / Maideen to Sg Lembing.
It's one of its kind of experience for first timers a.k.a us.

In tandem with this upgrade, we are also upgrading our foods and drinks as well.
For foods, we have BBQ lamb, BBQ meat and etc... yum yum in place of normal maggi goreng, chicken chop, ayam goreng, garlic naan, burger special.
For drinks, we have upgrade to alcoholic drink instead of the so 'ordinary' teh limau ais, milo ais, 100 Plus, Soya Bean, Bunga Kekwa, air panas.

Oh...and did I mentioned that this mamak stall provide overnight accomodation and refreshing breakfast too =p wink*wink*

So enjoy your 'cha' ... made with cold refreshing water from Sungai Lembing Rainbow Waterfall and a little salty water from Awana Kijal =)

Till then,
ps. do not miss this friday's yam cha session =)

Cheers

meet my friends, Kitties Kitty

No one would have believe me if I say I start most of my days happily amused.
So, I took the initiative to capture some of the moments.
These are only a few. Some various reasons for not taking pics ... I'm already late. Too many things to hold to take photo, lazy to take handphone out from bag, some pics taken not clear...etc

Almost every alternate day, be it before work or after work, I'll be amused by these friends of mine .. Kitties at or near the LRT station

These kittens playing very playfully till the grey one got stuck behind the vending machine ^^!Their antics of not standing steadily, falling off the wall and silly little antics can really make my day.
I was capturing this photo when a young school boy looked at me like I had never seen kittens before. But who cares? =p

Meet this kitty most morning at the place where I park my car. Definately a kitty who knows how to enjoy life. Such a great poser on a nice car. Wonder do they take cat for car commercials? =p hehe

This kitty is just darn brave. I was very near but it didn't move an inch.
Instead it stare at me arrogantly as though saying "You from which jungle, never seen a kitty on top of a car before meh?"

One thing for sure, if I'm not late for work, I'll always try to spot where the kitties are.
For they never fail to amuse & amaze me ^^! phew

Don't worry, be happy =)

The Star Metro Classified 3/3/08

To help you claim your own optimism advantage, here are 7 practical tips for you to try out.

1. Be adventurous
Cultivate a continual sense of adventure that takes advantage of opportunities. Victors make the best of opportunities while victim whine about how few they have

2. Keep learning
Build a history of lifelong learning instead of settling for absolescence. Invest 5% of your time in education to stay a recyclable asset. If you hate your job, raise that to 10%.

3. Appreciate yourself
Manage your motivation by catching yourself being effective. You are probably tougher on yourself than any other person. Instead of taking yourself for granted, love yourself the way you love others you care about.

4. Learn from mistake
See mistakes as valued lessons on the way to success

5. Be with positive people

6. Learn to laugh
have a sense of humour. It provides perspective that break the stress cycle and invites a more positive attitude.

7. Be happy
Finally, experience the power of gratitude. Start counting your blessing instead of problems

what do you see?

Photo (C) Liba Taylor/Panos
Bonus Read - Hope in Hell - Reader's Digest March 2006

I stoned and stared at the photo above for about 30 seconds only to realise that I had tears welling in my eyes.
For that 30 seconds, time really stopped despite being in the morning LRT rush, standing and reading Reader's Digest.
I think I had looked with so much intensity that I could feel the love and the warmth of love.... so genuine

I love this photo very very much.
This is definately one of those photos that touches my heart deeply.

It just simply urges me to reach out and help those in need.

Thank you to the photographer who capture this real moment and share it with us.

We have spoken, what's next?

Now that we have voice our stand, what's in store for us?
Talk not to us, but show us what's beyond talk.

To our dear representatives,
you've WALK and TALK, now it's time to WALK that TALK

I'm happy like this...

I'm happy like this ... when the plants in my garden are like these .... wahaha...

Dreams

For the past few nights, I've been sleeping early (I really mean early before 12.30am)

However, I keep waking up at about 4.30am - 5.00am from dreams ... thus remembering my dreams vividly.

And I ended not resting entirely, I'm sleeping early but not sleeping deeply like I usually do.

hopefully tonight's sleep will be a peaceful 'yat gao fun tin gong' (translated one sleep till dawn).
May be I should drink a camomile tea to help me sleep better =)

2008 ...

2008 - this is definately a year of marriages and starting a family.

We are just stepping into the 3rd month of the year and so many couples have shared their happiness.
I just wonder whether 2008 is a good year?
or is it because I've come to the age where people around me (about the same age) think it's time to marry and start a family.

So far, I've received the happy news ..

2 cousins getting married ... one in March & another in December

6 friends getting married ... 4 school mates, 2 colleagues from previous department ... and hearsay there's more coming...

3 friends who's expecting ... 2 friends & 1 colleague

expensivellergy

If you remember, I've mentioned in one of my earlier post that I'm allergy to lotion from Body Shop (post dated 13/2/07)

Yesterday, I tried using the Christmas present from June e e which comprises of a Botanical Shower Mousse and In-shower Moisturiser.

This morning I woke up with itchy tiny red rashes all over my body.

I love the smell and feel of these products but can't really comprehend why is my skin acting this way when the ingredients are mostly natural.

Me... cannot understand why while others skin will be very happy to receive such good nutritions and moisture, my skin choose to react negatively to it...

Perhaps it's true that I can only use cheap stuffs.
Strange as it may be, i think it's my body way of telling me that I'm not made for expensive stuffs... hehe

painting misadventures

Operation 1

Target : to smear the 4 walls of the master head room with 2 tones.

Allocated time frame : 10 man hour

Strategies :
1. Decide on date and hour of smear
2. Purchase of smearing equipments and damages intended (that is to bank account)
3. Negotiation of tones and attack strategies
4. Determine and indicate direction of smear
5. Troops and equipment move in
6. Maps displayed on all grounds, indicating areas not to smear (a.k.a floor and fittings)
7. Divide and conquer
8. Initial smearing done, retreat to rest and discuss.
9. To continue conquer tomolo at hour 1100 after travelling up and down the hill (bkt gasing)
10. Announcement of victory

Operation aside,
today again dear literally saved my life.

This was how it happened...
After moving the neccessary equipments into the room,
we started with cleaning the walls.
With my usual 'mi mi mo mo' speed, I was a little slow in scrubbing of those dirts.
As I'm not tall (obviously), of course I'll need the help of a ladder (the big blue brother) in the photo below to help me reach places I couldn't reach even by tip toe.
btw, even standing at the top of the ladder, my head doesn't hit the ceiling... now you know how not tall I'm =p

I can feel that one of big blue brother leg is not shorter than the other 3.
But I thought big blue brother should be stable enough to support my weight.

Then came to the point where I scrub with a little too much strength that I lose my balance. The ladder tilted to my right and I could feel myself falling off balance with the ladder. I shouted in shock as if it can help not to let me fall.
It was dear's quick action that saves my life ... he grabbed hold of the ladder and stabilise it back.
Lucky he was nearby and was telling me that the ladder is unstable because I didn't straighten the 1 of the 2 stabiliser in between the slanting ladder.

I came down the ladder with wobbly shivering legs ... only god knows how furious my heart was beating. What could have happened had dear not catch hold of the ladder in time?
For the rest of the day, I was abit afraid and reluctant to paint the higher walls but I guess I need to overcome my fear.
I forced myself to go up the ladder again... but this time I make sure the ladder is stable and strategically place that I can hold on to something to avoid fall.

Painting is a wonderful activity (minus the smell of the paint).
It's fun colouring the wall ... Loving it =)

ps. hehe, pls do let me know if you want some fun adventures painting the walls / ceiling.
We may need some help if there are volunteers .... hehe

ps. thank you dear for saving my life

The BIG BLUE BROTHER
This is where I almost fall ... I was cleaning the wall above the switch.

Properties a.k.a Real Estate

Many thanks to Kye for sharing this email
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Property prices world wide US/Canada, Australia & Europe have fallen
drastically. The property plunge has now reached Asia. The biggest economic
giant in Asia - China is the latest victim to property crash.

http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2008/2/25/business/20424985&sec=business

Malaysia's property prices are expected to drop by 30%-50% in 2008/9 due to
the global slowdown. Sales of new projects have slowed down drastically
despite many incentives thrown in.

Main reasons why property prices will drop are:

* Too many new housing projects. This is despite the fact that many
existing completed housing estates are either vacant or abandoned. Just
take a drive around your neighbourhood, and you will see many "For
Rent/Sale" posters.
* Property prices sky high beyond reach of people - eg. an university
graduate can barely buy a house with his/her salary. At the end of the day,
price will fall to supply & demand forces. No one can fight the forces of
nature.
* Higher cost of living has reduced everybody's disposal income. You need
to pay for food, clothes, education, petrol, etc. downgrade to cheaper
house, or rent instead of buy. For the middle & upper class, they have less
money available for property investment too.
* Professionals are investing in overseas cheaper properties with a view of
migration. Malaysia has been suffering from serious brain drain.

SOME ADVICES:

* Recession is coming, DON'T TRUST what politicians say.
* Postpone all major expenditures, eg. buying houses, cars & house renovation - CASH is KING during bad times.
* If you have excess property baggage, sell & cash out now - cut losses. Keep the money for reinvestment later.
* Avoid taking any new loans
* Buy only Fully Completed house if you must buy one.

Coping well?

Off late, I've many friends and relatives asking if I'm alrite without a domestic helper.
Need not worry as I'm still alive and KICKING !!!

In fact, I think the CRASH course is effective ...
Although so, I will always remember what a friend of mine said
"You're a women, you should know how to do all these"

Honestly, I'm beginnning to adapting well to life like this ...
It reinforce the saying that 'Life is not a bed of rose' which indeed is very true.

My growth these few months is exponential and it actually light up my usually low self esteem ..
Now it seem to me that I'm a capable little girl ... no longer that 'anything also dunno' girl.
Of course, I did made alot of mistakes in the process ... but what is success without mistake.

I'm now feeling like a little tree with new shoots ... growing bit by bit each precious day ... absorbing sunlight and water to help me grow.

Reducing Deposit Rates

Hearsay, our deposit rates will be reduced in the next few months. Maybe as early as next month which is a day away.
It will begin with savings accounts but I foresee it will soon have domino effects on Fixed Deposit rates as well.
Most banks savings deposit interest rates are based on tiers.
Reduction for the initial tiers are quite significant to laymen (like me)
This will automatically lead to the question of inflation...
How are we going to survive just by saving in bank savings account??
the peanut rates offer doesn't even cover 2/3 of inflation rate we are living in each day.

It's already not easy to earn money, what more, it's even harder now to save money.
How are we suppose to survive?

For those friends whom I may have spoken to ... please believe me when I say we need to have more than 1 source of income ... in other words, multiple source of income ... build your pipeline slowly if you must but keep on building because these pipelines are your lifelines in time of dire need. These pipelines will ensure sufficient supply of water especially when it's need most.

colour blinded

I've always say never ask a colour blinded person (like me) to choose colours .. hehe
reason being ... all colours to me are beautiful
and I like colours be together because it is only then each colour's beauty will flourish..
and it's due to this that I may find it quite tough to single out a certain colour that is more beautiful than the other.

Once someone very close to me (who know I love all things colourful) asked whether do we paint our room in stripes of colours?
Now I wonder do I get to do things this crazy?? =p blek

What colour will you paint your room? Your feedback will be very helpful to me =)
please submit by 8.30am on 1/3/08
as mentioned earlier, I think I'm too colour blinded to choose =p therefore I need your help

home cooked meal

Another one of my home cooked meal =)
Although I'm learning to cook only at this point of my life, I've never regretted.
It's better late than never.
and I never knew I could love cooking so much .... hehe
I used to not like cooking due to the heat and the oil but it all doesn't matter now ... it really does not matter anymore =)

Love Undercover

Just watched this movie on TV ...
this has got to be one of my all-time favourites.

The chemistry between the leads Miriam Yeung & Daniel Wu is funny yet sweet.

have watched Love Undercover 1 & 2, wondering when do I get to watch Love Undercover 3.

Chap Goh Meh

Although today is the 15th day (last day of Chinese New Year), it feels like a new beginning to me.

Praying at the Kuan Yin temple at Jln Ampang has such a peaceful effect on me … it somehow make me feel peaceful and thankful.

I’m not a pious person but somehow today I felt the PRESENCE deep within me.

Thanks to June & LM for bringing me to the temple during lunch.

It is a wonderful day today … filled with happiness and joy and abundance
=)

books I collected from the temple ... can't wait to read them. Sometimes we may need to find peace among chaos...

terima kasih. sama sama

The person sitting next to me got too bored of waiting that he took out a pen and starting writing on the piece of 'angka giliran' slip

No prize for guessing who is the guy correctly .... keke =p

my colourful notes

I loves colourful things during my schooling days... and even now =)
Didn't know how my infatuation started but I've started to fill my life with colours and colours ...
Some of my notes (stumble upon during spring cleaning)
that's too colourful to throw away ...
I've always remember that I'm happiest when I receive colour pencils as present last time ... the more colours like 24 or 48 colours, the happier =p

Once in exam, I remembered the colour of the formula but not the formula .... keke =p

ps. I have a stack of cards ... all colourful like these

Give us a second chance

Forwarded from a volunteer at SPCA

Our Animal Inspector received a call today (Monday, 18th Feb) from a concerned woman who found a mother dog who had given birth to 10 puppies in a small depression in a field. 3 puppies had already died after being hit by passing cars. The 7 remaining pups were hot and panting, and were brought back and placed under SPCA Selangor's guardianship.

The 1-month-old pups will not survive long in the shelter system where they will be exposed to bacteria and fatal viruses, but they may survive with gentle care and nurturing in your home.

If you have experience fostering young puppies, and have a suitable space in your home to foster them for 4-6 weeks, please give us a call within the next 24 hours. As they are young and need to be monitored around the clock and fed every 4-5 hours, we encourage only those with enough time on their hands to take them in. The puppies can be separated into different foster homes, preferably 2 per home.

Please be aware that while there are many success stories for fostered homeless animals, many young kittens and puppies do not survive even with the best care and attention - however they still do deserve a second chance at life. If you are willing to take the chance, please contact us immediately!

For more information, please call
42565312/ 42535179/ 42535312 from 9am-4pm tomorrow (Monday, 19th February) or

Valentine's Day Bedtime Story

Last 14/2/2006, I started a story
This 14/2/2008, I had decided to continue with what I've started

14/2/2006
there was a story ...

Once there was an ordinary girl walking to lunch by herself.

It was just like any other day...the sun was hot but she still prefer to walk far for lunch.

She likes to walk, it keeps her healthy.

She was walking and didn't realised she crossed path with a familiar face, all because she didn't want to wear her spectacles.

Fortunately, the young man approached her, they smiled and greeted each other.

They had not seen each other for many years.

The young man was walking back from the place the girl was heading to.

The girl suggested for the young man to join her for lunch which the young man politely obliged.

As they walked, they had exchanges and caught up with each other lives.

At the eating outlet, the girl got herself some food while the young man only had drinks.

As her lunch time is not long, she tried to finish her food as fast as she could while talking to the young man.

When the young man told her that she eats alot for a girl, she laughed it off.

She don't think she eats alot, she was basically finishing the food on her plate.

If time permits, she will want to sit there and see what other comments the young man will give. Well, to her, at least he's being honest.

Later they found out that they are working around the same area. On their way back, they didn't cross the road even when the traffic light turned red and the cars stopped. They were too busy talking.

fast forward ....

It was a few years later that they found out that they met each other on a valentine's day.

She still likes to walk,

she still didn't wear her spectacles,

she still suggest the young man to join her for lunch and dinner and she still eats alot.

The young man still politely obliged, he still tell her that you eat alot for a girl.

They are still busy talking to each other, but now when the traffic light turns red and cars stop. the young man holds her hand and leads her across the road.

14/2/08

The girl still walk to lunch almost everyday... mostly far

She still likes to walk ... but now with the matching speed as the young man.

(thus we know why the girl shoes last for 3 months most only)

She still doesn't wear her specstacles ... the young man has to horn to get her come in the car when fetching her from the LRT station. She were either too busybody talking or looking at other people.

Now, when the girl says she can't finish her food, the young man will smile and say 'don't tipu' or 'don't pura pura'. He'll make sure the girl eat much to put on weight and stay healthy.

At the traffic light, they are still busy talking to each other, but now when the traffic light turns red and cars stop. The girl grabs the young man hand and say 'come faster dear, the light is turning green soon!'

The girl in this story told me that she just wish to thank the guy for coming into her life ... and have always been there and always be there for her through thicks and thins...

The love birds

Bumped into them at Tesco Extra Cheras ...

'Prosperity' is with us

Around 1am++ on the 1st day of lunar new year ....
'prosperity' came to us and blessed all corners of dear's car and our lives =)

'Prosperity' came to us and refused to leave =p

Chai Yee had the first encounter with 'Prosperity' =p

I managed to capture 'Prosperity' in action, blessing every corner of dear's car =p

'Prosperity blessing left aspects of our lives

and right aspects of our lives..... and that is Chai Yee's hand =p wink wink

blessing the driver seat leg area... and the little light is from the car

blessing the front passenger seat leg space ...

laying down confortably in driver seat leg area... enjoying the air cond ... keke =p

I didn't know 'Prosperity' is in dear's car until dear asked 'Why is 'Prosperity' in our car..

Seated at the front passenger seat, I saw 'Prosperity' waving at me when I turned back to passenger seat.

'Prosperity' who had blessed the back seat decided to bless me at the front passenger seat.... sitting next to me.

When I got down the car, 'Prosperity' blessed the driver seat as well.

I think 'Prosperity' likes air cond because he's enjoying his stay in dear's car =D

Four of us (cy, cy's dad, dear & me) were coaxing 'Prosperity' to visit and bless other places as well, however 'Prosperity' has found a perfect spot for him to rest for the night in the car.

After much effort, including offing the car engine, coaxing him with 'imaginary' food and some tender loving warning. 'Prosperity' wasn't deterred from staying the night in the car.

At last, it was the firework from dear's flashlight that managed to coax 'Prosperity' to proceed to another place for blessing.
'Prosperity' has selected CY's home =)

Thank you very much, 'Prosperity' for blessing us with ABUNDANCE of laughters (happiness), wealth (fatt - hair in Cantonese') and 'Wang Wang' (dog bark in Mandarin)

When I told dad the story, dad says dog brings 'Prosperity'

I'm starting this year of Rat with 'PROSPERITY', filled with ABUNDANCE that he gave us =D
ps. we have grown used to fragrance of 'PROSPERITY' in the car ... keke =p

Reunion dinner

Reunion dinner this year actually makes me like cooking =) keke... and eating actually.
ok lah... I had always loved eating =p
Some of the simple simple food which I cook for this year =)

The fried egg with oyster (like oo chian) was with dried oysters ... because forgot to buy fresh ones loh

I documented all the details since it's my 1st time cooking reunion dinner.

Although it may not be as tasty as
Andy's .... but i still think it's yum yum for a first timer =p
I'm addicted to the 'feel good' endorphin that I get when my loved ones finishes the food I cooked.

I'm proud of myself. After all, I did cooked up a storm in the kitchen... kakaka....

the '7 * pan' which dad selected from the market and cut vegetables

the mushroom and 'happiness' (sea cucumber in cantonese)

the small abalone and 'zhen g bao' in can, the 'good things' (hou xi - oyster in cantonese) and wolfberries.

the yet to be steamed 'abundance' (yu - abundance in Mandarin)

This is where we cook ... airy and nice =)

The storm I cooked up in the kitchen...keke

taken when I couldn't wait for the steam fish =p

The REUNION DINNER
ps. I'm going to cook for our dinner tonight again... =)

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

most delicious dinner

This will be the 1st time sis, dad & me will be cooking reunion dinner.
Last time we used to eat at grandparents' home...
Then when we opted for steamboat for reunion because I don't know how to cook and am lazy to learn cooking.
However, this year we have muster enough courage to decide that we wanted to cook our reunion dinner.

And I'm currently pouring over the cookbooks.
Something which I previously only do when I'm feeling hungry and needed some visual satisfaction... keke =p

The thought of cooking together with my family bring warmth to my heart. It's like a project we are embarking on, full of enthuasiasm and don't want it to end.

To all of us, enjoy our reunion dinner ....
for it's the most delicious dinner in the world

I will survive

In about a week's time, my domestic helper will be going back to her home country for good.
And we'll be left grabbling with our new found responsibilities.
These responsibilities are new to me.
Athough they are not impossible feats but for a spoilt brat like me, they do seem impossible.
It's not a matter of whether I'm willing to do but more of a matter of time and my energy level.

Nevertheless, I have survived worse, so what is this little peanut? =p (more like a durian actually)
I will survive
Rephrase : I gotta survive

Although I may not be able to sleep... but I'm going to sleep because
I gotta survive each and every day...
and I need my sleep and will have to get all the sleep I want while I still can...
cause I do not know how many hours do I get to sleep when we no longer have someone to look after our daily chores at home.

Till then, wish me luck.
and if I do not update my blog as frequent as I used to, your understanding is sincerely appreciated.
There are really just so much a person can do... what more a spoilt brat like me...

ps. and in preparation for those gruelling sessions, I've cropped my hair short ... as short as possible so that they do not get into my way.
