" don't be afraid "

It has been quite some time since I heard these few words "Don't be afraid"

the other day, left office about 6pm
and of all the lifts (there are 6 altogether)
I go and select the one that people is repairing (how I know wor, also no signboard or people inside) It arrived, door opened then I go in loh.

pressed '1' door closed but then didn't go down
pressed '1' again, also the screen still show '15'
then pressed ' < > ' to open door & come out, door didn't open.
try '< >' many times again, nothing happened.

then while I was pressing '1' again, I saw the screen showed '15' .... till '9'
then it stopped.
thought got people want to come in lift, but door never open.
the door did have some noise like want to open, but still didn't open.
then to my disappointment, the same thing happen like at level 15.

me already thinking want to press 'bell' sign or not.
me scare later the guard scold "sikit sikit tekan loceng"
was hoping the lift reach level 1 faster and let me out.

It did reach level 1, can hear the 'think' sound and 'announcement'
but the door refused to open (no matter what I pressed =P
each time I pressed the '< > ' there were some noise as though the door is opening, but then the door is still closed.

then after some time, door still don't open.
scared liao so press the emergency 'bell' loh
if there's another people in the lift, at least me not so scare. got people to talk to ma.
then I heard noise from outside the door ... thought saviour come liao ... very efficient =)

when the door opened by the 'uncle' with a metal equipment.
I was relieved.
uncle : (cantonese) why press bell so long, scare ah? (laughing)
me : (cantonese) hai loh, so long already also door didn't happen
uncle : (cantonese) mm gheng, uncle yat think wooi lam ban fat hoi mun bei lei chuit lei geh. yi goh mun shot shot dai, shing yat jam geh.
translated : don't be afraid, uncle will sure think of ways to open door let you out wan. this door something wrong, always jam
me : oh ... mm guai tak la. toh jie uncle. hou choi yau lei heung do
translated : oh...no wonder la, lucky you're here
uncle : I come here to repair mah
me : oh ...

( actually I wanted to say "uncle, if repair, you put sign mah, then only people know will know ma. Else will scare 'sai dam' (faint hearted) people like me to death =P
