Cherry tomatoes supplier

Do not know since when but currently my workstation ... there’s where my collegues gather to place order for their cherry tomatoes supply.
Well, it started with cherry tomatoes then the order list grew to ‘japanese cucumber’ … Cameron mandarin oranges, green, yellow, orange, red pepper lantern chili.

Now, I see the wonders of referrals through word of mouth marketing.
Well, this is how it works

Bought for 1 collegue (A) who crave cherry tomatoes
(A) offer cherry tomatoes to other collegues sitting near her let’s say (B) (C) (D) (E) …

(C) and (D) asked (A) … where you bought those?
(A) tell them and the next moment,

(C) come and ask "those cherry tomatoes are nice, you got them from Cameron? For your next trip, do you think you can get some for me too? Maybe about 500g, can carry ho?"
(well can I say no? can lah but just buying tomatoes only … simple … takkan want to say no meh)

then the following morning,
(D) will come and say about the same thing. But also feel like eating ‘japanese cucumber’ wo … ask do they have those in Cameron.
Well the answer is yes and questions like … can also get some of those for me? followed. They are selling it expensive here in KL.

If my business is growing at this rate & pattern, then I’ll more than happy lo =D

The uncle selling in Cameron see me coming from afar already laughing heartily asking "this time what you want ah?"
" uncle, can qualify for bulk discount already? " I asked

First time round, uncle thought he heard wrongly when I told him I want 2 kg of cherry tomatoes
Uncle : 200g or 2kg? Or two packet (those pre-pack in clear container like how they store strawberries)
Me : 2kg. Can help me separate 4 plastic bags
Uncle : oh, buy for friend. Thought you buy for whole week supply

Lucky so far, there isn’t any order for cabbages, cauliflower, sweet potatoes and flowers so far … else I pengsan =p hehe..
Imagine someone wearing office wear, carrying fruits & vegetables… sure will bring laughter to sleepy office workers in the morning =P

Legend of the fall

Don’t remember watching this movie
but the theme music gave me a strange feeling
It’s like falling down & standing up again

was listening to my sis MP3 compilation CD when I heard it.
grew to like it liao ... have been playing the same track again and again
wonder what's the story like ... Legend of the Fall

老鼠爱大米
Rat loves big rice (maybe cheese can also =P

我听见你的声音 有种特别的感觉
Have a special feeling when I hear your voice
让我不断想 不敢再忘记你
make me keep thinking, dare not forget you
我记得有一个人 永远留在我心中
I remember there's someone who'll always be in my heart
哪怕只能够这样的想你
afraid only able to think of you this way
如果真的有一天 爱情理想会实现
If there's a day, love aspiration will come true
我会加倍努力好好对你永远不改变
I will double my effort to be good to you, will not change forever
不管路有多么远 一定会让它实现
no matter how far is the road, will make it materialise (come true)
我会亲亲在你耳边对你说(对你说)
I'll whisper by your ear, telling you
我爱你爱着你 就像老鼠爱大米
I love you, loving you, just like rat love cheese
不管有多少风雨 我都会依然陪着你
don't care how how much rain or shine (obstacles) I will still be by your side
我想你想着你 不管有多么的苦
I miss you, think of you, don't care how difficult
只要能让你开心 我什么都愿意 这样爱你
as long as able make you happy, I'm willing .... this is how much I love you

bed sheet

While waiting for a friend, I walked around the ‘ bed sheet ’ department of SOGO (near office) to see if I could find any nice bed sheet on offer.

There was one design that attracted me, so when the sales assistant approached
I asked " adik, ada design sama ke untuk ‘king’ size atau ‘queen’ size? "
" ada kut, nanti kak saya cari " she say while leading me to another rack.
I saw the price tag when she handed me the package. It read : RM149.
( … in my mind … wow, I don’t even have that amt of cash with me … and beds at home not used to wearing such expensive clothes… haha)
" ini ada promotion ke, dik? Design dia cantik, akak suka tapi Cuma harganya cantik juga"
" buat masa ni belum lagi kak. Masa sales dulu, harga dia lebih kurang rm40 lebih ..rm50. Kan akak suka, akak beli masa sales nanti"
" yia? Hanya rm40 – rm50?"
" betul kak. Sebab sini, brand ni, saya yang buat price tag"
" nanti bila ada sales lagi?"
" kalau tak silap .. akhir bulan julai atau awal august"

My friend, Vivian then called asking me where I’m
So I said " SOGO loh, looking for bed sheet"
Vivian : so got ngam size? Ngam design? You choose longer a bit lah. I late a bit.
Me : Design nice, size ngam, price tak ngam. Ok lah, I’ll wait for you. Faster ah.

When call ended, the adik said : akak tunggu husband ye? nanti boleh minta dia bayar.
( … I don’t recall having any friends by the name of ‘husban’ wo … LOL )
I couldn’t help laughing : LOL .. alamak .. akak nampak macam isteri org ke? Ni mesti sebab akak nampak tua kan? Tapi best juga kan kalau ada husband boleh datang tolong bayar …. Haha … LOL
She smiled embarrassedly : tak de lah, kak. Akak nampak muda lagi.
Me : gembira akak .. tak pe dik, akak beli nanti bila ada sales…murah sikit
She : ya kak. Nanti akak boleh cari saya lah.
Me : ok lah, itupun kalau dik ingat akak ni lagi … haha. Ok akak pergi dulu ya. Terima kasih.

Later, when I met Vivian, I asked her
Do I look like I’m married? She answered negative.
But just now, the sales girl say my husband (that’s YOU) will come & pay for the bed sheet …. Wahhahah
Vivian : wei, don’t simply say ah, after people think we are les…
Me : LOL
Vivian : SOGO got so many departments … got ladies dept, you go look for clothes mah or you go supermarket for something to eat .. you go those household department some more look for double bed bed sheet for what?
Me : LOL .. cheh .. if need to buy double bed sheet for home cannot wan meh? Who say you can only buy bed sheet for your own bed? Haiya … LOL

Thinking back, lucky last time when choosing baby clothes for friend's baby,
I asked the salesgirl whether baby usually wear long sleeve or short sleeve, what type pf material suitable for baby, lucky she didn't ask "How many month is your baby?" haha... =D

fathers will always be fathers ..

Due to exam stress, me had over last week, coerced my friends & collegues to talk more about their fathers ...
and here are some ...

Kaval : you know, my elder sister always call my father to pick her up especially at night, my father actually complaining "aiyah ... always have to pick up the elder daughter. If got boyfriend like second daughter then easy lah .. got driver "

Yin : ... not like that say one, like my sister got boyfriend already, father also worry whether the boyfriend treat the daughter well... whether for real or play (gao gao zhen) only. Got driver .. but if come home late a bit, father also worry...sigh

then another collegues, shao farn whose father was admitted early may when he fell of the motorbike said : our fathers always want worry for us and care for us, but because they are the man of the family so they seldom show it.

excerpt from other friends ...
" no need to celebrate father's day wan, everytime I asked him, he say no need waste money"
" actually my father is the one who taught me how to cook that dish wan "
" it's actually my father which I'm afraid to reveal about my current relationship. you know fathers can sometimes be more conservative. they want only the best for their daughter "

well, my father ... too much to say ... one blog also not enough

most recent one lah ... today
he actually bought a pack of 'Mamee' (yup, yellow packaging mee like crackers) and a box of chocolate ice cream ... nothing special right?
because today I'm having exam so unable go grocery shopping, so he actually replace ...
instead of buying those normal grocery ... I didn't expect my father to be so observant .. he must have realised that I always grab a packet of 'Mamee' and a box of chocolate ice-cream home.
He actually know I everytime curi curi buy 'Mamee' and ice-cream when go shopping although I will usually hide them once reach home =P

another one (abt a year or two back)... which makes me smile when think of it
my father actually ask me "you go to work no need make up wan ah?"
when I answered "no need" he responded 'ohh... "
then i said "not necessarily loh ... unless got programme or function"
which my father then said " why? no money to buy cosmetic ah? buy those reasonable wan loh, no need those expensive wan or else you can use last time your mother's"

fathers will always be fathers =)

Happy father's day ... to all fathers

Makcik bunga telur

Yesterday was a meaningful day. Everything was great & beautiful .. the environment, the atmosphere, the people, the food .. everything. It was mai’s brother wedding… congratulations!!!
All of us found joy in being ‘makcik bunga telur’ =p

The bride & bridegroom was very beautiful. There were many heart warming exchanges. Many relatives & friends gathered to share the joy and witness the beautiful ceremony. Beside us (chai yee, keef, foong ling, soon yeng) sook yun, syima & adila were there too =)

Moving about with baskets carrying ‘bunga telur’ was a great experience, not to mention wearing baju kurung, keeping track of ‘who has not got their ‘bunga telur’ and hearing so many ‘ terima kasih’ in a day =)

There were some hilarious moments though and lots of chatting
Who say ‘makcik bunga telur’ can’t be professional? … haha.
A waiter with the catering company actually came to ask me " you kerja sini ke? You kerja syarikat mana?
Ya, kerja dengan syarikat ‘Mai & Co’… haha … tolong tolong aje
We couldn’t help laughing =D
Another waiter expects even higher service level, he promptly reminded us that we missed distributing to a particular table. That was very kind & observant of him =D
Then there were people who actually hold up the ‘metal jug’ indicating want to refill when they see you approaching. haha …. Perhaps besides makcik bunga telur, ada look macam waitress juga =P

Our friend foong ling was well received by kids asking for sweet packets.
"kalau nak gula gula, pergi kat akak baju oren tu. Dia ada banyak lagi dalam bakul" … most probably what the kids are communicating.

Soon yeng & kee fong had taken many beautiful photos. If lucky, you can catch a glimpse of the event on keef’s blog http://keefkeef.blogspot.com

To make a beautiful day even more beautiful, we went for dinner at the Esquire Kitchen … really delicious

It was all worthwhile … all happy … all smiles and laughter… =D
Thanks everyone for such a wonderful day =)

Kuantan trip highlights (1)

  1. Petrol station is the new venue for credit card marketing. Was approached to apply MBF Lady Card while Terence pump petrol.

just to share

just to share. got from a friend =)

ps. can any sifu teach me how to post 'animated gif' here? TQ =)

' zhuo you wei nan '

just in case my pin yin that bad ..hehe
the title actually literally translated : left right trouble.

Me received a call from a mother yesterday, wanted to know where did the son last used his credit card. From her shivering voice, me could tell she's trying not to cry. According to the mother, her son has not came home for 5 days and she couldn't get him on the handphone or any other contacts. Added that she had made police report too but would like to check where his son last used his credit card ... maybe it could help her locate her son.

As much as I would like to help a worried mum, I feel bad that I couldn't.
Throughout the conversation, she pleaded and cried, asking me to just reveal to her.
As we are not allowed under BAFIA (banking act) to reveal customer information to any third party without prior authorisation, I couldn't say much over the phone.
My manager didn't give me the green light to reveal. Telling me to apologize that we are unable to do so.
Me can't stand seeing (well, hearing) mother crying for their children. It make me feel so 'sour' in the heart.
No matter how I apologize that I'm unable to reveal and advised her to come to the bank with any authorisation from police. She kept pleading. She didn't gave up saying every mum will do the same too if their child is missing. ( true also, our parents will never give up on us )

She refused to put down the phone. At one point of time, her husband even took over the call and requested to let them know their son last transactions on the credit card. On unsuccessful attempt, the mother got back the phone and started crying again.
I feel very guilty. I was in a very difficult situation. I couldn't feel anymore helpless.
What these parents said throughout the whole about 15 - 20 minutes conversation, when I think back made me realised a lot of things. I guess I couldn't get myself to blame them cause they are not wrong trying to look for their missing son. I hope they are able to find their son. If only me can let the son hear what his parents had said over the phone.

However, what made me feel 'down' was what the mother said before she slammed the phone.
In cantonese, "lei mm moi bong chao shuen loh, lei wooi yao bo ying geh, lei "
translate : you don't want to help then leave it, you'll get your balasan.

So, next time, please let your parents know if you will be late, if you would like to detour or unable to be there (especially if they are expecting you to be around). You wouldn't want them to worry.

limit-down

Our SBI ( Second Board Index ) came tumbling down like nobody's business, hitting the lowest level in nearly 7 years.

Investors seemed to be continue selling down small-cap companies counters due to plunging shares prices. In fact 120 stocks hit their 52-week lows. Affected companies cited 'unusual market activities' while bankers denied cutting credit lines for share margin financing (which was the reason we thought responsible for the falling index )

For the past few weeks, we have seen counters hitting limit-down.
I have came across people who liquidate unit trust & other investments comprising on returns to top up their margin financing line.
Despite being stuck in the market, some think it's a great time to enter the market now ... on the concept of buy low sell high, thus they liquidate other investments to have cashflow to gain quicker return through equities (which may work too)
Of course there are a certain level of risk we shall take to reap higher returns.

Before this, I didn't know what limit-down is till some counters started hitting limit-down starting march 2005. All I knew during then was it will result in a particular counter being suspended.
I got to know that :
For shares traded above RM 1, price is allowed to drop by 30% only in either morning or afternoon session before it's considered limit-down.
For shares traded below RM 1, only a drop of 30 cents will rendered a counter limit-down.

30% and 30 cents does means a lot, they do, they really do.
Imagine holding a few lots of 2nd board counter at rm0.45 falling to rm0.15 in just a single session.
However, we do have people who pick up stocks at rm0.15 in optimism view that price will increase in future.
We do have people who 'wait & see' (there's where they say lots of cash got stuck in market) and also people who sell to cut losses.
Well, I guess it falls back to investors' risk appetites, investment strategies & cashflow conditions as well as overall market situations.
