drink .. drank .. drunk (part 2)

haha... I knew I was not so 'steady' when almost everyone started asking me 'Are you OK?'
hey but really I did not drank that much o ... maybe cumulatively a small glass of red wine (or 1 and a half glass) and two gulp of hennesky for the last toast only. I even poured part of the hennesky to Terence.
We then proceeded to "Beach Club". Personally, I enjoyed the walk from menara TA to Beach Club while drizzling ... basically I was 'float' walking

I still remember seeing small children selling stuffs like chewing gum, tissue pack and flower. looking at them ... the way they look at customers pleading them to purchase ... makes me wonder ... who?
Entering beach club 'woke me' up for a while. remember telling myself "since I'm here, why not enjoy myself?"

Couldn't remember much till Jo An asked me whether I want to go out. She hold my hand and lead me out. Outside..me, jo an & alvin chatted before I feel the liquor is taking a toll on me.
I felt very 'light', sleepy and worse of all wanted to vomit. aiya, that time very 'shan fu' la
it was then someone suggested that we take a rest at the car. thanks to jo an & alvin for bringing me to the car.

having difficulty throwing up, felt like throwing however nothing came out. can't remember much except that I throw up almost the dinner I had. Lucky I managed to climb out of addy's car before throwing up. Had both my shoes and legs covered with my vomit (Did I kena u all? jo n, terence, foong ling, jane? very sorry o) but really i felt much better after throwing up.
looking back, i felt embarassed leh =) ... people drank so much also no problem, me drank just a bit like this already, some more menyusahkan orang lain ... sigh

If I'm not wrong, alvin drove us home and we left the window open for who knows when I might throw up again =P
When reached home, I scrambled for my keys and remembered some friends got down the car to help me open the lock although I insist I'm still able to ... thanks friends =)
I slept on the sofa, woke up about 5am only to realised that I had not changed and had not locked the second lock as well as the glass sliding door. Quickly locked, changed (afraid later my parents will lecture..haha) and went back to my room to sleep.

Supposed to drive my parents to Tasik Permaisuri but don't think I'm fit to drive plus the terrible headache. So, my father had to drive lo ... he thought I had headache and lazy to wake up.
lucky he don't know I'm drunk till forgot to lock second lock and sliding door...hehe =P

Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the experience and great time!!! THANKS EVERYONE !!! =)

drink...drank...drunk (part 1)

thanks to everyone for the great time at harvey's wedding dinner .. round 1, round 2 ( although I managed to complete round 1 only.. hehe)
many first times ... first time attending friend's wedding dinner, first time got drunk, first time to Beach Club

Harvey's wedding dinner was great .. the people (all friends including those that have not met for quite some time), the food and the environment was superb. and at our table, addy has the privilege of being the 'VVIP' =P and he seemed to enjoy it !!
however, he should have inform us he has gastric, then perhaps we might just render him 'VIP' treament lo =)
ps. now i get to witness how 'king' is seow fei. WOW

The rendition of "Peng You - emil chow" was heart warming. It was definately the SONG, never mind that we are not chinese educated ... we still managed to complete the whole song with sincerity for we know we will be friends forever =)

' dai tao ha '

In order not to forget to pay bills, I make it a point to schedule my utility bills payment earlier .. all at one go.
Usually I'll schedule my bills payment right after my cut-off date for my credit card statement best possible before due date of the bills
for this month, I was early...by beginning of the month..had already scheduled payment at a few sites.

but it was at this want that my 'dai tao ha'ness shone =P
http://www.payonline.com.my
It was 15th of September and I has yet to receive e-mail confirmation that the transaction for Telekom although I had received the cofirmation for tmnet payment.
I had scheduled both payment to be on 6/9/04.
I called Telekom customer service line to double check, no payment received.
I decided to chk my payment history at the site. Nothing reflected but I remembered scheduling it.

It was when I was about to logout that I saw something
I scheduled my payment for Telekom bill no doubt on 6/9 but in year 2005
no wonder no payment was made... and I was trying to put the blame on various parties and systems ... in actual ... it was all my mistake la =)

I couldn't help laughing at my 'silly'ness ...hahah =D

Desire ...

Is desire enough to make you take action?

horse spelling station

Yet another trip back from Cameron Highland .. weather was cool and windy although cold at times =)

I saw "Racehorse Spelling Station"

Dinner

Dinner was great ... with lots of beautiful ladies ... tasty dishes
What I like best was the segment by 'Harith Iskandar' and ' Lady with strings '

Harith Iskandar is funny, hilarious and entertaining ... had a great time laughing my heart out.
It's good to be able to laugh at ourselves though =D

' Lady with strings ' ... this lady is a guest performer (offhand can't remember her name)
she's very good with violin ala vanessa mae

ps. don't know how much was spent by the bank and also the people attending the dinner
now where those money came from??

a breath of life ...

a NEW breath of life ...
by our friend, Addy
http://abreathoflife.blogdrive.com

like your 1st post, Addy
your first post makes me think of the following
" the blog I blog today, people may not have a look "
" do blog anyway "

haha ... blogging really contagious punya o =)

try this

heard this from a seminar ...
can't remember word for word ... roughly it's like this

A daughter fell in love with a boy at her mum funeral.
She killed her sister a few days later.
but why?

Pearl - fect

Only today I realised 'pearl' is beautiful
I saw my collegue, Liana wearing a single pearl as pendant ... she looked so elegant
and the pearl is so pure, outstanding and unique

According to Liana, we can get pearls at a cheaper price in East Malaysia
and that is where her boyfriend bought her those pearls
yes, those pearls ... sometimes she'll wearing pearl earrings, pearl pendant, pearl necklace, pearl bracelet ... but still nothing beats the single pearl pendant.

and I'm going to get one pearl pendant when I have accumulated enough $
PEARL - FECT =)

ADD

ADD
today from 4pm onwards, everyone in office brimmed with joy and excitement
aiya ... not busy with work ...
busy discussing how will the annual dinner be, what are the performances, what will they have for lucky draws, what everyone will be wearing (because the theme is RED RENDEVOUZ ) , how do we carpool to the venue...

strange.. but while my collegues are busy discussing, describing and deciding what they will wear... my mind wander to WHAT FOODS THEY WILL SERVE TOMORROW.

I accidentally pop this question
" tomorrow's food don't know nice or not leh? "

Then suddenly got lots of feedback
" orang tengah cakap esok pakai apa, ni asyik ma..kan saja, hopeless case la" =D
" the objective is to let people mingle around ma, of course having nice foods makes mingling a lot easier la " =P
" you think want to skip lunch or not? " =P
" sure they serve enough food for everyone only...no more no less"
" wah, tomorrow sure got lots of pretty ladies & handsome guys ... remember to get to know them ... take photos ... take contact no ... take anything you can take " =P
" if any one of us kena lucky draw, can divide among us ah? " =)

patutlah orang cakap "rambut sama hitam, hati lain lain"

anyhow, hope to enjoy the annual dinner tomorrow ... be it the FOOD, the atmosphere, the networking opportunities, the performances ... the everything =)

alone?

Sunday around 3pm - 4pm, me and my sis went grocery shopping at a hypermarket in cheras
there I met my collegue (or should I say senior) Ms.Felicia
She was shopping with her husband and her daughter

She was very suprised when she saw me pushing the trolley all by myself
I was suprised too ;P
as the first question she asked before I greet her was
" you alone? shopping? no one accompany you ah? " (with her eyes wide open)

I then greeted her, her hubby and her daughter
then tried to explained
" no la, came with my sis. she went over the other side to get something "

Felicia : Oh, came with your sister. How come never walk together?
I thought you are shopping alone, so lonely
Me : (smile) so ngam ma, she go get something. You shop here with your family often?
Felicia : no la, sunday free so bring our daughter shopping lo
Me : oh ... , ok la..me also have to look for my sister. see you =)

I pushed my trolley walking away, thinking
' shopping alone' ? nothing wrong r
' shopping alone' ? not strange also
' shopping alone' ? not bad, in fact I think I like it also

but then don't know why others view it as something out of norm leh?

free bone scan

dear all,

the clinic where I used to work is offering free bone scan to members of public
priority given to elderly citizens, after menopausal women and people in need, though
It's a simple scan which check patient's bone density, whether lacking calcium or
scan for any bone-related illness eg.osteoporosis, calcium deficiency...etc
(sorry, me don't know how to put it in medical terms)

if anyone's parents, relatives or friends who would like to have a scan,
can give me name, IC no. and contact details
clinic will contact the parties concerned for confirmation and arrangement
(may try to cater for all, however if overwhelming responses .. may subject to availability)

do not worry, it's a simple scan and doesn't take long
perhaps about 5 to 10 minutes for each patient
the scanner is a small machine, where you place your foot on the 'platform'
all you have to do is just to ensure that your feet are clean
there's no pain and it's not dangerous
(believe me, I had tried it before =)

Ralph Waldo Emerson

Do not follow where the path may lead
Go instead where there is no path & leave a trail

" someone's going to do it, why not you? "

that line sounds familiar? doesn't it?
bet you have seen it or heard it somewhere?

a friend was looking for some advertisements for marketing assignment.
and this advertisement me like a lot
http://www.guinness.com/guinness/en_ZZ/seeing/ads/ad
/0,6438,125540_125889,00.html
only after watching it again, I realised I like it more wo

also the print versions

(pic of underwater seafood restaurant)
someone's going to build the impossible, why not you?

(pic of shooting location and the actor just jumped off a 10 storey high building)
someone's going to be rewarded for a hard day's work, why not you?

"The ad was created by Saatchi & Saatchi Malaysia and shot at the Henderdon Valley studios in Auckland, New Zealand." quoted from above link

an apt representation...
" someone's going to create the ad, why not us (Malaysia)? "

it happened ...

http://www.nanyang.com.my

excerpts from http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/09/04/russia.school/index.html

BESLAN, Russia (CNN) -- The death toll in the Russian hostage crisis has climbed beyond 350 as President Vladimir Putin denounced the massacre as "an attack on our country."

North Ossetia government spokesman Lev Dzugayev told CNN that 323 hostages, including 156 children, died in the siege in the southern town of Beslan.

Near the scene, the bodies of dead children were placed on stretchers. One woman leaned down and caressed the body of a young boy. Other women stood shocked, holding their hands to their mouths and weeping

just my humble opinion
I may not know what's the objectives / reasons for what happened
but the victims are innocent and helpless
and that was the picture that I saw in nanyang siang pao night edition that prompted me to post this
may they rest in peace

crossroad ...

I'm at a crossroad..
It's so hard to make decision on which way to go as my decision may not only affect me but those around me..
I do not know which is better but I really the decision that I'll make will be the best for me and parties concerned..
sigh ... I wish I could view the problem from top and solve it
however, life will not be interesting without ups and downs right? =)

by Nick Traina ...

Mom ...

I have known a million people
But never one like you
Many of my friends are special
But I still don't have a clue
How you got to be so wonderful
The world's most perfect mom
You' ve always loved and helped me
Even when I was wrong
I'm sorry I've made you cry
I'll do my best to make you proud
I promise I will try
Everyone sees hardship
And everyone feels pain
And if anyone knows it's you and me
That sun will shine through rain
You' ve given me so much
That words are not enough
To say how much I love you
I'm trying and it's tough
Without you I'd be nowhere
You believed in me no matter what
My arms are always open
I promise you they'll never shut
I have more respect for you
Than any woman alive
And my shoulder is always here
If you ever need to cry
Everything will turn out fine
Because I will always love you
Until the day I die

Benjawan and me

pic courtesy : nick
benjawan & me

Benjawan was the first person whom I initiate long conversation with although initially we had difficulties understanding what each other said. It was like pointing up and down, gesturing with hands and legs. She'll speak very slowly, occasionally searching for words to express her thoughts. On & off, she'll translate our conversation to her collegue.

She's from Thailand, has a pair of soothing eyes. Speaking to her is like speaking to a long-time friend, I felt very comfortable. In fact, in her I see a 'mum'.
In Krabi, Thailand, she has 2 massage parlours. They are open for business for 6 months - peak season and she'll have break till the next peak season comes again.
However, she decided to come over to work at perhentian because she was offered a deal by bubu long beach's management and also her business is not doing well. She also mentioned about situations in her country.

She's a professional masseur who believes in healing the body through massage therapies (using pressure points). She told me that she would like to take up acupuncture to combine with massage to heal. She wanted to impart her knowledge & skills to others as she alone doesn't have enough energy. On average, she can do about 6 to 8 max massage therapies a day or she'll be exhausted... which is why she prefer to teach others how to heal & look after themselves.
She taught me some too... but i could remember 2 only (that's me la...nvr remember properly)
on the last day, I'm afraid I might forget her face, so I decided to have a photo with her. Thanks to nick.

She has 2 children, a boy (20 years) and a girl (abt 10 year-old if i'm not wrong). She raised her children single-handedly as her husband had passed away some 9-10 yrs ago.
I felt sorry that I raised this, however it was clear that she misses her daughter a lot, when she spoke of her daughter, she was brimming with smile, full of fond memories.

She was amazed that most chinese of all age that were there at perhentian played cards / mahjongs. She asked "you chinese people like to play this" pointing at our friends who are playing cards (1 table) and mahjong (next table).
"Yes, one of our favourite past time" I replied.
Benjawan : you all play with money
Me : sometimes yes, sometimes no
Benjawan : Is it fun to play?
Me : Yes, if win a lot. You know how to play?
Benjawan : I only watch. cannot understand. the foreigners also like to watch the chinese play. last time, got 1 small boy maybe 7 years old. very good at playing. The mother say..train the brain very good.

Me bought some hand band as souvenirs for friends. However, I couldn't help but to offer her one. She was very happy..selected one and said "my daughter will like this a lot" and thanked me profusely. I also 'mm ho yi see'. I was happy too for I didn't know a small gesture can bring a lot of happiness.

I wish you well, benjawan =)
