Do you believe if I say we all have at least a little of illness?
This illness is known as 职业病 ...

I've made some real life observations and these are my limited findings, if you have some examples, feel free to share too =)

Case 1 : (updated)

Boiling water in a electric kettle (with measurement indicator like those they have in hotel)

The characters :
1. A doctor (Anaesthetician to be exact, the doctor who give you anaesthetic a.k.a painkiller)
2. a money minded worker / mother
3. a person with background in physic, chemistry & electrical stuff

When the 3 of them boil water, you can easily tell which kettle of water was boiled by who. How?

(a) 1 kettle will have water lesser than the 'Full - Max' indicator. - person 3 (he says lesser water to heat, use lesser electricity & faster wo)

(b) 1 kettle will have water exactly at the 'Full - Max' indicator. - person 1 (as an anaesthetician, it is crucial to ensure that the dose of painkiller given to patient is exactly as stated / calculated)

(c) 1 kettle will have water more than the 'Full - Max' indicator. - person 2 ( like money, the more the better and no need to boil so many times)

btw, the 'Full - Max' indicator is at 1.8L for this particular kettle.

Would you like to take a guess at the answer before I reveal it in the next post? hehe

Case 2 :
If a friend post on FB "36.8 degrees celcius ... lying on bed now..

The characters :

1. A business man / woman or a salesperson

2. A doctor

3. An English teacher

4. A person dealing with air-cond system

5. A person with wild imagination (this one I purposely add one =p keke

6. A sport enthusiastic

(a) The 1st thing that comes to this person mind is the spelling of degree Celsius (°C) - an extra 's' on degree

(b) The 1st thing that comes to this person mind is " emm......that's not fever........it's normal...."

(c) The 1st thing that comes to this person mind is start converting the degree to whichever other measurement metrics or start guessing the humidity or even thinking of the temperature of the room and how to cool it down if necessary.

(d) The 1st thing that comes to this person mind is 'temperature's not raised, never mention heart racing, somemore just say lying on the bed ... so most likely not refering to action + excitement 'on the bed'.

(e) The 1st thing that comes to this person mind is 'must be cooling down after some sport, now temperature back to normal and resting on bed sweet bed'...perhaps with some arching muscles?

(f) The 1st thing that comes to this person mind is "he / she must be lying down on the bed thinking about a pay rise of 36.8% OR about the profit can make if sold of the share/investment today OR the sales increment needed to sustain the same income. This person may accidentally overlook the 'degree Celsius (°C)' and replace it with % or ratio.

Would you like to take a guess 1st as well? =p

ps. please, no offends to anyone / any occupation ... just a little fun observation. Any resemblance to real life cases is merely coincidence. (hehe, actually case 1 is very real. case 2 is 3/4 real..lol)

I do not know whether this billboard is placed strategically there on purpose or it was coincidentally there ... but I find the SUNLIGHT bring exceptional meaning to an already meaningful message. Kudos to Petronas for another meaningful ad!

sapu buku

love ones, friends, water, foods & air aside ... if there's one thing I cannot resist, it has got to be book. I'm captivated by books.

Yes, now we can get almost everything on the WWW and you can read e-book while commuting / in the loo but at times, nothing beats reading a good ol' book.

This month I've gone to 'sapu buku' again @ Times Warehouse Clearance sales @ BSC.

Nevermind the fact that I bravely took public transport to this uptown place without even knowing where the bus stop to get down & bus stop to take a bus home. Not to mention the 'auntish load' I'm carrying..lol

My 'fishes' which I caught from the sea of books...
Mostly are 3 for RM10. Some are RM2 & RM3.


Bring me to warehouse clearance sales...that's all you need to keep me happy for a few months to year.
Bring me to a book one ... I'll be the happiest people around and the happiness will last me as long as the book last =D

1st train .... last bus

Tomorrow's adventure :
taking the 1st LRT @ 6pm (correction:6am). It's my 1st.
Need to go back to office to do testing... all these while I'm enjoying the luxury of doing testing @ comfort of own chair.
Dread waking up so early, dread sneaking out while my baby & ah dear still sleeping, dread having to work on a weekend.
But somehow secretly I'm also anticipating the adventure of non-routine tomorrow =)
I've packed my bag including the book that I want to read while waiting for environment to be released for testing.

Last time's adventure :
Still remember during my school time, I relied very much on public transportation.
There was once where I was supposed to take bus no.62 to go home after a project discussion.

The last bus according to the bus operator @ Jln Silang (in front of Mydin) is 11.30pm.
And here I was there standing & waiting for bus no.62 @11.40pm.

Don't ask me why I didn't call my dad to come fetch me ... I can't remember whether I have handphone already or not at that time. The thing is I lied to my parents that someone will be sending me home in order not to let them worry about me.

Don't ask me why I didn't call my boyfriend to come fetch me ... cause I don't remember having a boy friend who's interested in me ... lol.

I still remember waiting very anxiously for the bus & kept bugging the bus operator @ the bus station to help me check whether the last bus 62 has come & gone. I even went to the extend of asking almost everyone standing near me what bus are they taking.

In my head, I'm making all sorts of plans on how to arrive home safely... things like sharing taxi with someone, or take another bus to the nearest place & take a taxi home, or making a list of people whom I can call in case or emergency except my parents.

Finally, when bus no. 62 finally arrive @ around 11.50... I was so relieved that I almost kneel down to thank god. I chased & scrambled up the bus no matter how packed it was.

Reaching my station, I still remember walking on the empty street back to my home way past midnight. Luckily the restaurant near my house is still open. I was walking as fast as I could (or did I run?)
Reaching home, my dad asked me how I came back....with the slightest emotion I said "Oh, my friend sent me back lo"
My dad then asked "Eh, never see any car one?"
I replied "Oh, my friend parked @ the restaurant there, we had supper then they walk together with me back here lo"

Come to think about it now ... me, not a bad liar after all...
Now I'm worried whether next time my children will give me the same type of 'answer' ...lol

'牛' bed

牛牛's new bed!!!
actually a recycled one to be exact ... ah papa has been sleeping on that bed for don't know how many years already lo...
Ah bi has graduated to new bed ... since when?
since he's tall & gung-ho enough to climb out of the baby cot..

It's a very nice place to sleep ...
I've tried sleeping there =) doze off immediately before ah bi ... haha

Yesterday some 'unforeseen' thing happened.
It made me want to dig a hole in the ground & put my head in there.. haha

My daily routine include pumping milk in the office in the morning before I even start work.
Yesterday was no exception. Except that yesterday in a hurry (as I was a little late) I've button my work shirt one-side-up.
If you are wondering how it look like, try imagine buttoning the 2nd button to 1st hole and thereafter. You will have a sidelooped collar & a shirt with 1 end shorter than the other end.
"Nothing too embarassing ... just go ladies & button it back" I hear you said. Yup, that was what I did when it happened a few weeks back.

But ... but this time, I landed myself in a 'smelly mud pool'.
I was sitting at my place when my big big boss came over to ask me something.
He continue talking while walking away, so in my attempt to confirm with him whether any action need to be taken at our end, I did the most 'wrong' thing, I stood up and walked towards him. He say no worry, he'll ask the other department to do.
The 'dumb' me then went back to my place and continue with work.

It was only about 15 minutes later, when I walked into the ladies and saw myself in the mirror, I laughed my gut out. No wonder my boss was looking at me strangely just now.
How in the world can I do such a 'crazy thing'?
There goes 'the undone' of all my past efforts for the whole year.

the question is 'How can you trust a staff who can't even button her own shirt properly manage a project?' ... A very valid question.

Now I have another question for myself ' How can a mother teach her children button shirt properly when she (who don't know have buttoned shirt how many thousand time) can create new 'style of buttoning'? haha..

ps. last time a friend of mine told me I'm like a '傻大姐' ... which I denied but now I can't help but agree fully with her....lol

to start all over again

Has not really exercised for a almost 2 years already ... (not including doing bicep curl weight bearing 10kg while climbing up the stairs every night without fail)

Come Nov (tomorrow actually) I'm starting all over again ... to start from scratch. Establishing a rountine to exercise ... real exercise.

weekday plan : take stair up 8 floors every morning (except when I'm really late or when my bag gets excessively heavy.

weekend plan : go walk 又好 go jog 又好 with friends & family (those in shopping malls are not counted though..hehe) ... and what the h*ll am I doing here right in front of PC at this a.m?

the reason : blame it on Encik Cholesterol

this thing could kill me ..

among the 101 things waiting for me to do

I call it the 'never ending fold' cause there will be a new batch before I finish the previous batch.
So have to stop here to go 'open work'

My horoscope - the crab come bite me again. After being bitten, I willingly part with money to buy (useless) stuffs to make my home a home (beside the fact that I'm real lazy with houseworks)

I'm not sure but from my observation of the people around me, the rat race rules seem to have changed.
If you allow me to call it the 'NEW rat race'..
From what I observe,
it's no longer who's got the most enviable highest flying & paying job
it's no longer who cliche the best deal
it's no longer who owns the most properties and luxurious item
now the race has a new face ... the OLD rat race characteristics & rules are now secondary if not tertiary.
it seems that now
it's about the importance of family & love ones
it's about personal development & personal well being
it's about who settle down faster
it's about how fast you start a home & family
it's about how much time you spend with your children
it's about how well you can leave work at where it should be left (ofice) and spend more time with family & love ones

Looking back, these new trends seem to have started 2-3 years back and is catching up faster nowadays.
Perhaps my observation are skewed towards the age group I'm in.
Perhaps my observation are biased because I observe selectively of the people whom I know and not a big sample enough to make major conclusions.

Anyway, we choose how we want to lead our lives.. race or no race

It captures the moment baby Jonathan, who's just been fitted with a cochlear implant, hears his mother's voice for the 1st time. This little miracle baby face just lights up.

ps. thank you to the donor and doctor that gave Jonathan a chance. This 1 minute is really really beautiful that they make me cry
