tomorrow is really a bonus

why do I say 'Tomorrow is really a bonus'?

Last Friday morning, my colleague shared with me what happened to her aunty's child.
The child is only 10 year old ++ and was found not breathing anymore (dead is a cruel word to use here) on thursday night on his bed, just like sleeping.
The child does not have any medical history and later was confirmed by doctor did not take any medication / poison and does not have any injury.
It was classified under sudden death.

what if we are the loved one of this child? what if we don't even get to say goodbye to our loved ones? what if we fall asleep forever? What if someone so dear to us just left without us knowing what happened?

Someone I know always say :
明天能够睁开眼睛算是赚一天

isn't tomorrow really a bonus??

those who know they are supposed to die would use that phrase.

for those who think they have longer lifespan will just think its just another day. depends on which point of view you take :

The Joker's : "Why so serious?"

Dying motivational speakers : "Everyday could be your last day"

etc etc etc
