thus phonologically linked taboos : words that describe the innocuous action may, through similar sounding pronunuciation describe something else (probably undesirable)

ever wonder why some chinese avoid slicing pear?
avoid scooping gravy from dishes n mixing with rice?
baulk at receiving clock as gift?
