just came back from cameron highland today... since June 2004, has been travelling there at least once a month or fortnightly
however, today was very special. as we were making our trip down, me suddenly had this craving for sweet potatoes =P
then ngam ngam saw a stall at the roadside selling various veggies, flowers and plants ... there was a brown cardboard with " ORGANIC SWEET POTATOES " written on it.
i saw two different trays of sweet potatoes ...
one with sweet potatoes smaller in size and less muddy
the other with bigger size, heavier sweet potatoes with more mud
so i asked the friendly aunty - in cantonese (literally tanslated)
" aunty r, which one sweeter, tastier? "
" how much per kilo? "
" there are 2 types here wo, got difference r? "
aunty answered merrily - in cantonese as well
" wa..both also sweet n tasty..aunty sell sure tasty wan "
" 3 kilo rm10 lo" (dunno whether expensive / cheap, but me just want to eat)
" depending on customer wan
this type plant with/in SOIL
that type plant with/in WATER "
" plant in WATER wan better, got more people buy"
so i decided to buy sweet potatoes - plant with WATER wan =D
even bought some for aunty in KL
u all also have not tried sweet potatoes plant with WATER wan leh...next time got chance should try =D
* *alas, i don't have digicam, or else me can capture the look of "ORGANIC SWEET POTATOES " and also the very hi-tech aunty and her nice stall =)
* * actually me wanted to ask (garu garu kepala)
1. can potatoes (tuber) grow in water?
2. or the nice aunty actually meant 'HYDROPHONIC' sweet potatoes?
