Return : 5%p.a. paid quarterly (tax free)
Min investment : RM1000
Max investment : RM100,000
Penalty : No penalty if bonds are redeemed before maturity after 1st profit payment
Based on syariah principles
Eligibility : 55 years & above, not employed on full time basis
: retired on medical ground (not employed on full time basis)

Some banks offer eligible customers to switch over from FD (fixed deposit) to this ‘Bon Simpanan Merdeka’ as current FD rates are between 3%p.a to 3.7%p.a depending on tenure.
