I stumbled upon this article from 'The Malaysian Women Weekly' magazine..
okie lah... I'm not the kind that believe love can be gauged through a series of questions ... but sometimes curiousity kills ... we just can't resist knowing how much we are loved ;p
caution : proceed with care. some of it may not be applicable to us :)
you know he loves you when ...
1. He lets you use his new laptop unsupervised ... not with everything is password protected
2. He walks your doggie. In broad daylight.
3. He holds your handbag for longer than a minute you shop ... not with the intention of checking on your SMSes
4. He lets you use his razor to shave your legs ... and change a new one immediately
5. He remembers your birthday and what cake you like ... if only you like cake
6. He lets you drive his car ... not when/because he's too lazy to drive you around
7. He (sometimes) gives up the TV remote control and lets you watch what you want
8. He thinks it’s funny (and isn’t threatened) when you use a picture of George Clooney... however whoever you adore for that matter ... as your work screensaver
9. He offers to pick the kids up after school or enrichment classes so you don’t have to do it every time.
10. He carefully record grey’s anatomy for you – without the commercials – when you have to work late ... and expect you to do the same for him when he works late
11. He sides with you over his mother (sometimes anyway)
12. He rubs your tired feet and listen to the blow-by-blow account of your bad day at work
13. He lets you nibble from his plate ... not because he can't finish his portion
14. He sends you text messages to cheer you up at work
15. He goes to the convenience store to buy your tampons
16. He lets you keep your childhood collection of cuddly teddy bears on the bed ... provided his figurines and robots are allowed too
17. He eats your homemade cake – including the black crust and hard icing. And asks for a second piece
18. He doesn’t smirk when he sees you in old T-shirt .... he just laughed his head off
19. He calls when he says he will ... and ask you to call him back
20. He saves up to buy you diamonds instead of red roses ... I prefer pearl though
21. He peels the onions so your mascara doesn’t run .... so that you'll still look presentable in front of his friends
22. He dries the dishes while you wash up after dinner, so you can shit-chat together
23. His favourite photograph of you is the one where you’re in jeans, a T-shirt and no make-up ... better still in lesser clothes
24. He says your smile is cuter than Cameron Diaz’s ... just to get you smiling
25. He let you give him a pedicure
26. He spots that DVD you’ve been wanting to watch for ages, and snaps it up for you ... it’s more like downloading for you nowadays
27. He admits you’re better at hanging wallpaper than he is ... not because he'd rather not being blame if anything go wrong
28. He even volunteer that you’re a better driver
29. He never dance in public for fear of embarrassing you
30. He joins a gym with you, so you stay fit together
31. He hasn’t worn his favourite cowboy boots since he discovered you can’t stand them
32. He gives you a kiss each morning before he leaves for work .. not because he wanted to check whether his breathe is fresh
33. He agrees to go clothes shopping with you – even though he’ll miss his favourite TV show
34. He waits patiently outside changing room while you try on almost everything in the shop ... not because he's trying to stay competitive with the bunch of guys waiting outside on who's the best partner
35. He values your opinion and proudly quotes you to people, or repeat the jokes at parties ... not because he has run out of jokes / topics
36. He accompanies you to supermarket on Saturday mornings to carry the bulging bags
37. He brings you flowers even if he hasn’t done anything wrong
38. He has two tickets to a major sport event. And there’s no one he’d rather go than with you.. not because he already expected you'll say no and know you'll ask him to go with someone else.
39. He willingly accompanies you to pre-natal classes
40. He stays in living room with you, even though you’re watching Bridget Jones’ Diary for the 10th time ... so that he can sleep at the comfortable sofa
41. When you get a new haircut, he notices (Okay, you may have to prompt him a little)
42. He lets you take your time dressing up and tell you how sexy you look after you’re done
43. He refrain from ‘scratching’ while watching football on TV
44. He offers to pick you up when you work late ... not because he wants you to join him for supper
45. He refrain from eating chocolate in the house when you’re on diet ... but eat it in front of you when both of you are outside
46. He takes care of everything when you’re in bed with flu ... except YOU
47. He lets you share the last biscuit in the house ... so that he can open the new PRINGLES
48. He doesn’t just roll over and go to sleep after you make love
49. He takes his turn being with the kids – from reading bedtime stories to taking them to the park on the weekend, so you can sleep in
50. When you feel the world is against you, you just know that he is on your side
ps. note that the writings in purple were meant to be fun =p ... please do not take it word for word

Work Work Work
Lately my workload in office has increased tremendously that I’m unable to find time to settle down.
Going into office is like entering a war-zone. Everything is critical. Everything is urgent.
All it’s like a whirlwind till it’s time to go home. Time is never enough no matter how much I do.
May be I’ve yet to master the art of prioritization. May be I’ve yet to be high enough in the ladder to delegate.
But trust me that when everything … yes, everything is just screaming ‘VERY CRITICAL’ and you’ve people to be answerable to … just everything is 1st priority.
And trust me, when you have no one to delegate to … it’s a matter of do or die. It’s like tai chi’ng the wrong way =p
Yalor.. I’ve only got myself to blame. While others worked hard and had their effort paid off .. being promoted, here I’m where I’m looking up at the ladder.. looking up at people waving to me & snigger 'see I told you so' … sad.
However, all is not gone…
At least I'm working in a harmonic environment.
At least I’m still surviving & enthusiastic about life.
At least I still have things to look forward to when I stepped out of the office glass door =)

When a man loves a woman
I'm pretty sure most of us would have heard of this song
'When a man loves a woman'
I read in a magazine that
'When a man loves a woman', his primary goal is to make her happy.
It was also mentioned that
'His mate fulfillment was the reward that make a man’s labour worthwhile'
someone care to tell me how true are these statements?
honest answer will be very much appreciated =p
next question .... when a woman love a man, her primary goal is ...............?

how not to love you more?

I just doesn't know how not to love these bunch of small animals.
They just make us want to protect them so much.
(or is it just the maternal instinct in me playing a fool on me ?? )
Thinking back, I always wonder
Why in the world would I had tried riding a big dog at my grandpa's farm many many years ago? Sorry doggie, it may be a tad too late but now I know, you are all meant to be loved, strictly not for riding :p
ps . thanks foong ling for forwarding me these pics

timid little animals
I've always wanted to rear little animals at my home but my parents wouldn't let.
Reason being they say 'I can't even take care of myself what more take care of small animals'
But I really can wor... really really can :)
Next time my home will have many small animals running around :p hehe
For they always bring me happiness ;D

Fulfilling holiday
Today, I decided to stay at home become a 'guai guai lui' (which is almost impossible)
and finish all my 'pending' in tray at home.
will start with cleaning my messy room ... please remind me to segregate 'can-be-recycled' items
if still have time, may be catch a movie or few series ... i miss watching movie
if still have time, learn to cook a dish ... most probably I'll end up eating more =p
if still have time, do facial ... before I turn 'beyond repair' and let's hope I'm not fast asleep putting mask =p
and if really still have time, update blog :D
and oh...did I mentioned I had my breakfast this morning without having brushed my teeth... =P hehe ... wah lau ... such a great way to start a holi-day
and finish all my 'pending' in tray at home.

They say we always appreciate what we don't have and take for granted what we have in abundance.
I knew this is true but realised this is very very true from what I've encountered on Saturday.

people change people grow
People come people go
People change people grow
Yesterday was the last day of work for a close collegue of mine at my workplace.
Sometimes... although we are happy for her, we still wished to have her here at the office.
It is a little bit selfish but that's because we are human... where relationships with other human is among the core of life.
Whichever is your decision YY, you have our full support.
I've got a call last night..
from a friend ..
She told me 2 things .... and my heart felt heavy (as though the earlier blow is not enough)
one...she's leaving Malaysia to Singapore to work today.
second... she and her childhood sweetheart is no longer an item on 31 December last year. I know both of them.
YY & YW, all the very best to both of you :) shine and continue shining wherever you go :)
it reminds me of the malay version of 'Auld Lang Syne'
It sings...
'Bertemu dan berpisah adat manusia biasa'

TIC - 'TAG' - TOE
Last time, we play TIC-TAC-TOE
This time, we play TIC-TAG-TOE (n oh.. it's so much more complicated & challenging than SUDOKU)
How to play ah?
according to my sifus... haihh & wewewawa
a) each person who gets tagged needs to write a blog post of their own 6 idiosyncrasies (abnormal behaviour, habits etc.) as well as clearly stating this rule.
b) after stating your 6 weirdness you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their multiply id at the bottom of your blog.
c) lastly, don’t forget to leave a comment that says "you’re tagged" in their comments and tell them to read your blog for information as to what it means".
but the problem hoh.. sifus only teach me how to play
didn't teach me how to win.... so this game goes round & round with the numbers of players growing fast...u know like SUDOKU ;p
answer for part (a)
sleep - nothing unusual except that I sleep anywhere, anytime, anyway (even at time & in places I'm not supposed to)
watch - currently I'm very into Discovery Channel (which I have no idea why) although I have no ASTRO. I'm addicted to it like those television series & even went to the extent of downloading whatever Discovery Channel episodes I can find.
toilet - toilet & reading makes a good pair..to me :p but only during 'big business'... I just don't know what else I'm supposed to do or can do beside reading. At times, I may be sms'ing. So if next time I say my handphone dropped..you know what happened la :p
Chou-lo (unladylike) - chou-lo can be my second name :p not only 1 or 2 person commended but easily 10 times of that...sigh. You know it's serious when people close to you tell you so.
There were countless times when dad & dear had to remind me that I'm wearing skirts so I better not sit with my legs wide apart :p 'You're supposed to eat like a girl' that was what mum told me when I was younger but very pai-seh when dear repeated the same words now :p
Language - I've never studied Mandarin / Chinese formally before but very much attracted to the beauty of this language. At some point in my life, I bought children pictionary and try to learn all the words in the dictionary (which I obviously didn't succeed). I tried writing Chinese with all the wrong strokes during my college days (yah..college days). I was not even shy writing in square exercise book in college class and bug my friend Wai Peng to teach me read those words I'm writing. yah...I'm the tak tau malu type...kekekek...
unclassified - like how i stick my tongue out when naughty, like how I always do my crying in the shower, like keeping 'future' rubbish only to throw them away, like being perceived by others as career-driven when what I want is happy families :) like being good at wasting money on unneccessary items ... and bla bla bla...

Living in a grateful world
A friend who knows I appreciate good things in life got me this from a photocopy shop.
It's an A4 size scenery background with these wordings in Chinese and English... will post the pix when camera comes back.
It says :
LIVING IN A GRATEFUL WORLD
Be grateful to those who have hurt or harmed you,
for they have reinforced your determination
Be greateful to those who have deceived you,
for they have deepened your insight
Be grateful to those who have hit you,
for they have reduced your karmic obstacles
Be grateful to those who have abandones you,
for they have taught yuo to be independent
Be grateful to those who have make you stumble,

Be grateful to those who have hit you,

Be grateful to those who have abandones you,
for they have taught yuo to be independent
Be grateful to those who have make you stumble,

Be grateful to those who have denounced you,

Can I hold your hand?

Chai Yee
again prompted me to post this :p
Me referring to her 'anything unusual' post .. hehe
We both want to hold the same hand :p :D
can consider something common also hor? :p
common yet uncommon

While Chai Yee found something common in our Melaka trip this time round, me found something uncommon (as well as common).
Going down the stairs is something common yet the ways we use to go down stairs is something uncommon =)
Analyze the way we go down the same stairs. I noticed females & males go down differently but someone(someone) proves me wrong ;p
Some say the way we go down stairs reflect our risk taking elements...
so, how do you usually go down the stairs? =)

If I ever ....
I've just returned from a career development workshop. To be honest, nothing there excite me. Seeing the enthusiasm of the fresh grad sitting next to me is like seeing myself so many many years back... hoping to outshine a little and land myself in a great job.
Now that I discover all GREAT jobs they are refering to are mere jobs where we slaught our head off in order to earn a living.
Someone please tell me that it's still worth climbing the corporate ladder. Tell me that they are things which I can look forward to when I reach a higher level besides better money.
Talking about the fresh grad that was sitting beside me, she's a bright and outstanding girl.
Very firm and convincing when she speaks. It was later that I found out she's the best student, head prefect of her school, organised a fun fair like charity event that collected RM60k for her school, won Pelajar Wakil Tokoh Kepimpinan for the school district. I found out that her family is treated like VIP by PIBG (Parents' Association) of the school.
I felt small in comparison but I didn't regret because that's not what I want.
She took Marketing Multimedia at Multimedia University.
I asked her what's her dream job as part of the exercise for the workshop, she told me she doesn't like sales but like presenting marketing proposals to corporate clients. However she didn't know how she ended up in a call centre.
I assured & encouraged her that she's still young and can work towards her goals. Although I may not be in the right position to give this kind of advice, I wanted very much for her to know that sometimes we may take a little bit of deviations to reach our destinations.
And that the grass may not be green all the time, it may dried off before growing greener after a downpour.

This is one of my all-time favourite song. Have been listening to it since childhood at my babysitter's home. One of the first few mandarin songs that I learnt to sing.
Previously it was just memorising the pronunciation but now I come to realise it has beautiful lyrics too.
Radio played this song on one fine day and it sort of relive my past memories.
The singer 游鸿明 has quite a number of nice songs.

Melaka – historical moments at historical city
Ps. Parameswara, Hang Tuah, Puteri Hang Li Po dan Laksamana Cheng Ho turut mengakui kehandalan Si Laksamana Andia dan bersetuju menganugerahi beliau dengan gelaran ‘sap ha sap ha’ :p

Like this song for its creativity.
Remember the song we always sing while small (maybe in kindergarten) about 2 tigers ... one without eyes, one without tail?
This is a song with a chorus (highlighted portions) same as the kiddie song, it's nice because it bring familiarity to us.
If you have the chance to listen to the song, you'll find yourself singing the chorus or at least you'll hum... I bet :p

W.A.T

How does it feel when you love someone yet the someone loves someone else?
At many times,
you may think you are the victim
The someone you love may think he/she is the victim
The one that the someone you love loves may think he/she is the victim.
Think of it this way,
What if someone loves you but the one you love is another person?
OR
What if the one you loves is also loved by someone else?
The point is ‘Loving someone is never a sin’.
At least we know we are all capable of loving.
As the Chinese saying goes : whatever is yours, is yours.
Your say?

Walk for Health, don't let health walk away

In the last hour of "San Pak" 8th of March International Women Day, would just like to nudge women especially you (yes, you lady) to appreciate our privileges as women.
Being a women is not easy, (neither is being men easy) we aspire to be successful in life ... being a good daughter, good sister, good girlfriend, good wife, good mother, good grandma, good provider for the family...
In our pursuit, we may overlook and compromise one of the most important element, our wellbeing and those of our loved ones.
Thus make today the day ... not to let health walk away.

Colours play important roles in our lives. It come from the same source, yet when viewed from different perspective, produces different degree of colours.
Yet when we put all colours together, we get white. Isn't it amazing?
What would life be if all we see is black & white?
Me tend to be attracted by colourful things.
During my schools days, my book is full of colours because I can only remember well with them :)
So to show appreciation for our colourful lives :) would like to share a few colourful pics :)
If you have any colourful pics that you may want to share, feel free to email to me :)

twinkle sprinkle
for roosters

Yesterday was Chap Goh Meh .. literally translated from Hokkien as the 15th night.
It also marks the end of Chinese New Year celebrations.
Chap Goh Meh is also Chinese Valentine's Day. On this night, unattached ladies to throw 'kam' a.k.a mandarin oranges into the sea, rivers or lakes, hoping the other half will appear.
I've been to one of such occasion at Taman Tasik Permaisuri with a group of close friends.
Stop blinking ^^! hehe .. yah, I've been there and even thought of throwing 'kams' :p
To begin the year, a peek into what the piggy year offer to us roosters :D
Personality
Dramatic but a reputable person who works systematically Hardworking, resourceful, talented and confident.
Vivacious and popular socially, but may have a tendency to brag insensitively.
Outspoken and loves to attract attention. Always take good care of their family and can handle money well.
The Rooster, or Chicken as he is called, is the Don Quixote of the Chinese cycle. The dauntless hero who must look to the earth to survive, he is the most misunderstood and eccentric of all the signs. outwardly, he is the epitome of self-assurance and aggression, but at heart he could be conservative and old-fashioned.
The Rooster-born, especially the men, will be attractive, even dashingly handsome. The princely fowl is radiant and proud of his fine feathers and has an impressive carriage. You don't find any roosters slouching; they strut about with dignity. Even the shyest member of the Rooster family will cut a neat, trim figure and maintain a special bearing wherever he goes.
There are two distinct type of Roosters.
The rapid-firing, extremely talkative ones and the deadly solemn observer types with the X-ray vision. both are equally hard to deal with.
The Rooster has many outstanding qualities to crow about. He is sharp, neat, precise, organized, decisive, upright, alert, and most direct. He can also be critical to the point of brutality. Don't ever ask him his frank, candid opinion--you may never recover from his comments.
He loves to argue and debate, showing how knowledgeable and smart he is, some- times with little regard of the feelings of others. But when his feathers are ruffled in return, he is insufferable. He isn't cut out to be a diplomat. Situations regarding tact, delicacy and discretion will cramp his style. His way is to go about trying to convert everyone to his way of thinking with a missionary zeal. He shines when he is the center of attraction.
Tremendously imposing as a personality, he could well pursue any career that exposes him to the public eye.

The Rooster likes: Hard works, Fresh Air, Neat but Casual, Challenges, Nature and Control.
The Rooster dislikes: Laziness, Weakness, Technology, Illness, Practical Jokes and politics
Our luck in 2007
Overall Forecast
Everything seems to go against you. The environment will not be to your favour. Beside, you will also be troubled by your health or family. Black as the situation looks for you, and beware of outdoor safety. Optimize your social network and social activities. A careful living would make you healthy.
Career
You will not have a most happy and prosperous career under the influence of much inference, but good relation and hard work can make it possible to land on your feet. Your luck is so unstable that new ideas, such as starting a business or changing jobs, should be taken into consideration. Without full preparations, you would suffer loss even in golden time.
Love
A characteristic of Rooster this year is your numerous in love life. Arguments over different views with your family will bring tensions. There may be separations between couples or lovers, and you should keep your head and tolerant to enhance communication and understanding. Participate in a number of social whirls to make more friends. Heighten your vigilance, or you would into a trap. You will enjoy a routine family life by sharing the feelings of your family members.
Wealth Your wealth luck is average. Budget and management will be keys for this year since spending increases but not on the revenue. These measures should be taken as quickly as possible so that you could make preparation mentally and physically. There will be various temptations from investment, but your pragmatic on your decision-making before plunging into the market blindly. Your problems on capital turnover will be resolved miraculously

BABEL
BABEL ....
one of oscar nomination for best movie was an interesting watch (to me) although the person sitting next to me was half asleep :p
It reflected many realities in life. It reflected the many faces of human.
After watching the movie, I realised that ' jia jia you ben nan nian de jing ' literally translated as every family has their own problems.
And that as a part of the world community, each and every of our actions will have impact on ourselves as well as others.
I like the way the stories from different parts of the world are linked effortlessly by an incident that happen ... beginning with the naive'ness of 2 kids.
The world isn't a perfect place but we know our little effort can make it a better place for all :)

Dance
I used to dance to music and songs in my home living room when no one is at home or when everyone is fast asleep.
It’s when I relax myself.
It’s also when I learnt to sing all those Chinese songs.
However, with my hectic life these days, I hardly have the time or energy to dance to the music anymore. The time I have left was spent sleeping.
The second excuse I gave myself was the hi-fi set in my living room is no longer working thus I’m unable to dance to music.
Oh I missed mentioning, those were the time when I didn’t have to work on weekends, didn’t have to take care so much of household matters, wasn’t in a relationship, has nothing better to do :)
Lately, I miss dancing freely to the music all again all alone ... letting my body flow with the melody. Doing somersault when I feel like it.
No worry, I’m going to do it again… very soon :D wee……

Index
Yesterday KLCI index closed at 1237.08, a whopping decline of 35.79 points from Monday’s closing.
This is one of the biggest fall in a day’s trade since the days of 1997.
I do not know why but my heart felt heavy when I read the latest update online around 5.30pm. Some fear grip me.
There were expectations that the market will fall after it had been in the bull run since end of last year, however we were caught unaware by this big fall.
There were expectations for the market to continue bullish till it reaches 1350 points.
There were news that we(our country) are performing well fundamentally.
On the other hand, we do not know how long these foreign funds will help to accelerate or sustain our market.
Whatever happens and like in any market, there tend to be gainers and losers.
Bad morning good afternoon
During my early morning rush while walking towards Bdr Tun Razak LRT station,
I slipped and fell.
Tried blaming the shoes and the slippery ground but really,
nothing beats my clumsiness :p
Luckily the fall just left me some scratches with blood and blue black marks.
My things in the paper bag I’m carrying were clever enough not to scatter too far away
from their owner :p
However, in the afternoon, my good luck came back to me :)
not only I got a RM10 voucher through the lucky draw,
I got myself Nivea Visage Whitening Eye Cream for free too
(although I had never used one before).
What’s ironic … the salesgirl actually forgot to let me draw when I pay and had to get her colleague to call me back to draw.
If I had walked away with the speed I was walking like in the morning,
I may not have the lucky lucky draw :)
Sometimes when our day may not have a good beginning, never give up cause we may have a wonderful day ;)

Doc said
Of late, I’ve been unwell quite often. It’s only the beginning of the year and I’ve been to the doctors many times.
I’ve been receiving signals from my body as well. I think they are trying to tell me “Hey girl, you’d better start looking after yourself and stop treating us so badly, else we’ll show our true colours.”
Doc said : You need to exercise. Really exercise and sweat.
As much as I would like to include shopping as part of an exercise regimen, I was told shopping is not exercise. We don’t sweat in those air conditioned environment. ( Actually I do sweat when it’s time to pay or swipe my cards, thinking of the amount of money spent :p )
So once I’m recovered, I’ll be up and getting my butt off to sweat it out.
What the doc said was just way too important for me to ignore.
GO EXERCISE GIRL. YOU NEED IT. PLENTY OF IT.

A friend was curious about the content of the song I posted some days ago as she doesn't read Chinese. So I told her I'll try to give a translation :)
Most romantic thing
by Chau Yong Hua
Back to back sitting on the floor mat
Listening to music, talking about hopes
You hope I will be more gentle (a.k.a caring)
I hope you'll always put me in your heart
You say you want to present me a romantic dream
Grateful that I lead you to find heaven
Not afraid that it may take a lifetime to complete
As long as I say, you'll never forget
The most romantic thing I can think of
Is to grow old gracefully together with you
Accumulating all the ups & downs laughters along the way
Keeping them so we can share slowly on the swing next time
The most romantic thing I can think of
Is to grow old gracefully together with you
Old till we are unable to travel around
You still treat me like a little precious in your palm
Especially this last two sentences.... very 'zheng' :) but I don't think I translated it well.

'Yan yeong ngor, ngor yeong yan'
Today is 'Yan Yat' 7th day of Lunar Chinese New Year and also everyone's birthday.
Happy Birthday to everyone!!! This birthday I would like to share with you a little story.
The other day, while waiting to bring the doctor to see my mum, I heard this conversation among a pair of younger couple and a pair of older couple.
The dispensary officer asked the younger wife whether she wants to have extra medicine for Chinese New Year since the clinic will be on long holidays.
The younger wife asked whether how much does it cost for the additional medicine as she’s tight on budget.
Old uncle : You can save on other things but not on health.
Young wife : But we are more tight on budget, especially for the kids and Chinese New Year’s coming.
Old aunty : We understand that our family always come first, but if you are unwell, who will take care of them? Especially small kids.
Old uncle : ‘Thai hoi di’ … be more open minded. The world is like this, in our life, ‘yan yeong ngor, ngor yeong yan’ … people take care of me, me take care of people.
The young couple agreed.
Old uncle : Don’t compare and make ourselves think we must have what material things others have. Catching up with the joneses causes more damages to our life. What’s important during new year is family reunion and not who has the most expensive things.
The young couple nodded in agreement.
I smiled because I had learnt a valuable lesson. The conversation took place last last Saturday but it still stay fresh in my mind.
But I do agree very much that in our life ‘Yan yeong ngor, ngor yeong yan’
No matter it’s our grandparents, parents, our children or grandchildren.
I’ve also always believe in ‘Pay It Forward’
For every kindness or help that we received, be grateful and let others also enjoy the kindness or help.

Wishing all a Happy & Prosperous New Year!!!
May..." da fu qi "
" da fu gui "
" da tuan yuen "
" da fong sou "
be with you & your family every day of the year :)
This is one of the angpow collection that I love as I find it very meaningful :)
This new year is a little bit more special :)
I didn’t really shop for clothes this new year, instead my new year shopping were more family inclined especially items like cookies, household items & foods preparation for reunion dinner.
My first lou sang was with a group of close friends a week before Chinese New Year. This is a new head start as I usually have lou sang only after 1st day of lunar Chinese New Year.
For the very first time, I didn’t take any leave for Chinese New Year as for the past years, I took either before or after.
Since childhood days where my parents buy new clothes for me, this new year I received 3 new clothes which I treasure alot.
Today is only the 4th day of Chinese New Year... I believe there are more to come and good things are coming to us all year round :)
Foods of Joy
Ever wonder why there are certain things that we always have for reunion dinner?
All or most of the foods we have during Chinese New Year are very meaningful :)
Sea cucumber - Hoi Sum - happy
Hair-like weed - Fatt Choy - good luck & prosperity
Oyster - Hou see - good event
Prawn - Ha - laughter (hehe haha)
Pineapple (tarts) - wong lai - prosperity coming
Coconut - ye zi - togetherness
other foods include :
Peanuts symbolise long life
Sesame seeds sprinkled over foods to signify fertility
As for foods in candy tray :
Candied melon - growth and good health
red melon seed - joy & sincerity
lychee nuts - family togetherness
lotus seeds - for lots of offspring
tangerine - abundant happiness
read about this in The Star newspapers. I only knew a few but the article gave me a more thorough understanding :)

It’s not that difficult after all
I must admit I used to procrastinate and leave the most difficult task to last minute. I realized this is no good and decided to make a change.
Lately I force myself to tackle difficult situations immediately eg. picking up the phone to call customers facing problems as soon as problem reported, writing the user requirements / reports as it is requested, testing the functionally and raising error logs immediately...
Many at times, I just force myself and say ‘get over with it, the faster the better, then don’t have to worry so long’.
It works. I realized I get a lot of things settled and customers (both internal & external) are happy that you response to them immediately although you may not be able to solve the problem on the spot.
Sometimes it's just all in our mind.
Most importantly, it’s not that difficult after all =)

Lately, temperature at my blog has been very low :p in order not to let it frozen, me decided to include some 'control' measures to maintain the average acceptable temperature :p
Would like to dedicate this beautiful song to all lovers and soon-to-be-lovers and yet-to-be lovers :)
Happy Belated Valentine's Day! :)
by 赵咏华

There a little story behind this beautiful gift set.I like the fragrance of moonflower that I didn't wanted to use it. Then the day I decided to use the body lotion about a year later, I realised I was allergic to it ... started having rashes.
I told you that "my body is not used to expensive stuff" ... actually me didn't want you to spend so much unneccessarily, dear :) Johnson & Johnson or Nivea is good enough for me :)
Till today, whenever smiley 'nag' me.. I'll laugh with joy :DAt the Ferringhi beach front, I wanted to make a choice of taking either the small little kite or this 'nagging' smiley home. You didn't let me think too much. You just paid for both.
Thanks dear for making me to bring smiley home as well because it's one of the things that make mum laugh too.

The day you sew my backpack for me was the day I asked "What have I done to deserve someone so good & caring to me?"It was just last 2 months during our trip to langkawi that my new backpack (1st time use) was spoilt by a very 'chou lou' me. You actually found a sewing kit & sew my backpack for me while I was snoring away like a pig. I must admit that your needlework is much better than mine :p Somehow it's those little little things you did that touches my heart... I do not know why dear.
Yah, right.. it's just a packet of peanuts :p but it's a packet of peanuts that have flown over thousands of kilometres, travel with you from KLIA back to my palm. Sometimes it's not what you give me that counts dear, it's the thoughts that counts.
It's like when you just have a peanut in your hand, yet you still want to share it with the person you love.
This was what you did to my calendar dear :) I've always wanted to ask you why smiley on 2nd November got 'fang' wan? :p or was handsome smiley wearing bow tie on that day? :pIf smilies represent happiness that you've brought & will continue bringing to my life dear, can I have a request :)
Dear, can you fill each day of each year in my calendar with smilies? .... with or without fang also can :D

Please don't laugh at me :D I know it's silly but I was insecured during then I must admit.Remember last year when you're away for work in East Malaysia on 14/2/06, I acted as though I care less whether you are around for our first valentine's day but I was actually worried..worried that you may have someone else in your arms. Looking back, it was very silly of me.
I'm sorry dear for having such thought.
Every time when I see camomile tea at the aisle in hypermarket, I can't help but remember the camomile tea you insist of buying for me despite me objecting during our Cameron trip. When you choosed camomile from the few flavours available because it helps me to sleep better, I was touched. You actually remember I once told you I had difficulties having a good sleep.

I wish you know how happy I was flying the kite you brought for me at Awana Kijal. I may not be good at flying kite but running around the beach with you were happy moments. And I knew it's was tiring for you to keep helping me fetch the kite and keeping them away from the water. Let's go kite flying again and let me do the fetching ;) you fly the kite ;)

what attracted me to this song initially was the LYRICs of the song..beautiful lyrics
the nice melody is a BONUS !!!

Successful
The other day, my colleagues were telling me about the wife of a Vice President of a bank. I was told that the wife is a capable young lady who’s slightly older than me but leading a very successful project in another well known bank.
My initial reaction was “Wah, I really envy these people who are so young and capable. ‘People’ around my age is already a project manager for a massive bank project while I’m still here just a small little prawn”
My senior colleague asked me : But are you happy where you are? Is ‘that’ where you want to be?
These 2 questions she threw me got me thinking hard.
Yah, I’m happy with my job & colleagues, although I’m not earning enough ;p
But is ‘that’ where I want to be?
I don’t think so. Never mind the amount of time, effort and youth sacrificed, the amount of stress and health issues that may follow … but all for the company… I will think twice (many many times actually)
Yah, money doesn’t come easy without efforts or works…this I know clearly but if it’s efforts & work, let it be for ourselves.
At many times in LRT, I see people bringing home loads and loads of work home even when they are going home way past office hours. I must say I’ve great respect for these very good employees and I bet they do earn a lot more. However, I never thought of being like them.
I’m just a simple girl who thinks in life, there are many ways to be successful and climbing to the top of the corporate ladder is just a fraction of it :)
